This is where real talk = real influence.

You know what works best for you — and we’re here to hear about it.

We’re looking for teens in Columbia, Montour, Snyder, Union, Schuylkill, and Northumberland to join our Youth Advisory Board + run the show.

Ditch the cringe + call the shots.

This is your chance to shape the vibe, look, focus, and message of the Beyond the Hype movement.

Or in other words, your opinion plays a powerful part in helping other teens drop the vape, strengthen their coping skills, and boost school-wide mental health in big ways. 

Building vape-free futures takes a team, and we want you on ours.

You don’t need to be a “leader.”

You don’t need perfect grades.

Caring is the only requirement.

We’re looking for teens with all kinds of experiences.

Athletes, artists, gamers, club members — or none of the above! Everyone’s welcome.

Teens who vape, used to vape, or are around it a lot (like your friends and parents vape).

Anyone dealing with stress, anxiety, or mental health stuff — and wants to help improve the mental wellness of other people in your circle.

Here’s what you’ll actually do.

As a Youth Advisory Board member, you + other teens will:

Name the board as a team. (Because let’s be honest — Youth Advisory Board is too boring.)

Review + choose the top Huddle ideas that teens, schools, and teachers submit.

Pick teen influencers for Beyond the Hype — or become one for your school.

Tell us what you really think about vids, posters + social media posts.

Brainstorm IRL and social media challenges, events + competitions.

Fill us in on how teens are actually feeling + what they’re going through.

So, why join the Board?

  • You’ll earn heaps of community service hours.
  • You’ll play a huge part in getting teens to actually listen.
  • You’ll build skills in leadership, communication, and advocacy.
  • You’ll meet + connect with teens from other schools and counties.
  • You’ll improve your entire circle with your voice, feelings + opinions.
  • You’ll probs even have a lot of fun. (Just sayin’.)

It works like this.

  • It starts at the end of January this year.
  • The meetings all happen virtually + over Zoom. 
  • You’ll need about 4 – 6 hours a month.
  • Support, guidance + tools are provided, so you’re never left guessing or stressed.
  • Some stuff happens in group meetings, and some you can do on your own.

No resumes. No recommendations. And definitely no essays. Just a short form so we can get to know you.
